Ministry doesn’t mull limits on gold deals, outflow limit possible

MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Finance Ministry does not discuss limiting or freezing of deals with gold, but it does not rule out limits on transportation of large quantities of precious metals abroad by individuals in the future, the authority said in a statement on Thursday.

“Any limits or freezing of sales and purchase deals are not under discussion for both individuals and legal entities. The Finance Ministry on the contrary wants to develop the precious metals market and to make gold a robust market investment product,” the ministry said.

“Limits can only be imposed in the future on the carriage of precious metals by individuals abroad in larger-than-allowed amounts,” the ministry said.
